Sulzer launches world’s largest medium-consistency pump

Sulzer has announced the launch of the world’s biggest medium-consistency pump, the MCE93-400, which has been in-built response to buyer demand for greater manufacturing charges in pulp mills.
The pumping of liquids with a excessive dry solids content material – medium consistency – is essential for processes in the pulp and paper trade.
In recent years, production charges have spiralled. As a end result, Sulzer developed the MCE93-400 for a customer challenge with record-breaking values.
The capacity of the pump reaches up to 10,000 air dry metric tonnes per day with the circulate up to 940 l/s and the top as a lot as one hundred eighty m. The MCE pump is designed for a stress ranking of 25 bar.
Jussi Heinonen, product supervisor for MC gear at Sulzer, said: “The new MCE93-400 has been designed to operate effectively, saving vitality, water and chemical prices in pulp and paper mill processes. The progressive design options of the pump minimise its life cycle prices.”
